With the first week of the NFL season in the books, you knew that we were gonna have some football cards in today's top five, which we do.
But it's actually baseball cards that are even hotter right now.
We'll tell you which ones are going up the most next.

Okay, let's start the show by taking a look at the overall sports card market with the Market Pulse by Market Movers.
For the first time in many weeks, it actually went down slightly, but do not fear.
It is unbelievably up overall over the last month and over the last year.
Here we are looking at the SCI 500 Index of 500 of the most prominent sports cards.
You can see it nudged down .3% over the last week, still up over 5% over the last 30 days, and up over 56% since January 1st of this year.
But now let's talk about the cards that are going up and down the most.
It is time for today's Top 5 Cards.
We're starting today's show with a cold card as we do every week because it is a reminder that sometimes the hot cards featured in this program can quickly turn cold in the sports card market, so please invest carefully.
And that is exactly what happened with the cards of George Lombard Jr., the shortstop for the New York Yankees.
It was just a, a little over a month ago that his cards were hot.
He made the hot list because he was called up to the Majors back on August the 4th, had the opportunity to join the Yankees Major League team and really make an impact as they surged towards the playoffs.
Well, he's been at the Major League level now for a little over a month and a half, and here's the impact.
Batting average of 225 and three home runs over 120 at-bats, an OPS of 627.
Those stats, eh, they're not creating a lot of excitement for him in the Majors, and unfortunately, they're not creating a lot of excitement for his cards right now, which means that his cards are on the way down in the baseball card market.
Let's take a look here in Market Movers and I'll show you what I'm talking about.
I've got five of his 2024 Bowman cards up on the screen.
This is his 2024 Bowman Chrome Prospect, the blue refractor numbered to 150.
This most recently sold for $191, but that has been on a downward trend, as has his 2024 Bowman Chrome First Prospect auto card.
This one in raw condition recently sold for $258, but the downward trend is real because a month ago that was $337.
Let's look at the, Let's look at his 2024 Bowman Chrome Prospect in PSA 10, non-auto.
$195 as of the most recent sale, but that was back at $220 a few weeks prior.
Here is his Paper Prospect auto in PSA 10 condition.
This went down slightly, $605 as of the most recent sale, but last month it had sold for as much as $700.
And finally, let's end with his 2024 Bowman Sapphire Edition First Bowman auto in Sapphire in PSA 10, very high-end card.
Recently sold for $1,225, but a month ago that was over $2,000.
So unfortunately, there's a lot of George Lombard's cards that have been on the way down.
But now let's talk about cards going up, and we're starting with our investment card of the week, and this week it is Tom Brady, and specifically Tom Brady's 2000 Bowman Rookie of the Year promotion.
Now, you don't need me to introduce Tom Brady to you.
You know, of course, all about the GOAT of football.
But you may not know about this particular card.
I need to introduce this to you because surely you've seen Tom Brady's 2000 Bowman Rookie.
That's a very iconic card, a very popular card, a card that gets transacted relatively often.
But there was a Rookie of the Year promotion version of that card that only had 250 total copies printed, so it's very rare.
It gets transacted very rarely.
And as you know, the sports card market this year, a lot of the big money has gone into scarcity and rarity, and that means there's a lot of investors circling around this particular card.
So let's take a look at it here in Market Movers.
So this is the card I'm talking about right here.
It, it looks like the same Tom Brady 2000 Bowman design, but it's got this big Rookie of the Year promotion stamp on it.
And guess what?
This thing recently sold for $110,000 in PSA 10 condition, and that is very significant because a year ago the card sold for $62,000.
So over the last year, this card has progressed from $62,000 all the way on up to $110,000.
Now, in PSA 9 there was only one sale of this card over the last year, and that sale was almost exactly a year ago at $14,500.
But surely next time it sells in PSA 9 it's gonna sell for a lot more.
Why?
Because look at the PSA 8.
A PSA 8 just sold a couple of months ago for $15,600.
So next time the PSA 9 sells Oh, that sale's gonna be, you know, many tens of thousands of dollars.
A BGS 9.5, one of these recently sold for $43,200, and if you go back to the previous sale, the previous sale was $18,600.
So that card is up 132% on the year.
Quite an investment card for Tom Brady.
But now let's talk about players playing today, and in the number five spot on today's list, it is Jeremiah Smith, the wide receiver for Ohio State.
Jeremiah Smith is considered to be one of the top receivers in college football, and he's proving it this season so far.
Through two games, he has 16 catches for 315 yards and three touchdowns.
Before the season started, his odds to win the Heisman Trophy were 15 to 1, but those have become considerably shorter.
His odds now to win the Heisman Trophy are seven to one, so a lot of people are paying attention to him and seeing his talent play out.
Ohio State has some big games upcoming later this season, including against Indiana and USC and Michigan, so there's gonna be a lot of time for him to star, and that could mean really good things for his card prices, and they're already starting to tick up.
Look at these card prices here in Market Movers.
We're gonna look at his 2025 Prizm draft picks cards, his rated prospect cards.
This is his silver in raw condition.
This one's up a little bit.
It sells for around $20 today, but, you know, go back a month ago, it was averaging a little bit less.
Been bouncing around a lot, but it's certainly on the uptick overall.
This is his red ice from 2025 Prizm draft pick.
Same story here.
This one today is a little bit over $21.
If you go back a month ago, that was down around $14 in raw condition.
And here's the red numbered of 399.
This one today is $47.
Last month, it was $45, so that one's gone up slightly.
How about the color blast?
The 2025 Prizm draft picks black color blast in raw condition most recently sold for $535.
The sale before that was at $500, and in PSA 10 condition, that recently sold for $1,425.
That one is actually up $300, because a couple of sales before that, it was down at $1,125.
So some nice movement here in Jeremiah Smith's cards.
Let's turn our attention to baseball for the number four card today, and it is Josu Depaula, the outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Now, Depaula was the top prospect in the Dodgers farm system, and actually the number six prospect in all of baseball according to MLB Pipeline, but the Dodgers called Depaula up to the majors last week with Shohei Ohtani headed to the injured list.
And there's a lot of people excited about what he's going to do for the Dodgers.
He was crushing it in double A with 27 home runs, 104 RBIs, and a .948 OPS, and he already crushed a home run for the Dodgers in the majors, so he is going to bring some power to the lineup.
He may get some time at DH, and he, he, he may get some time in the corner outfield spots for the Dodgers as well.
People with his cards are certainly appreciative of this fact, because let's look at some of them here in Market Movers, and you can see, look at the chart, as to what these have done since he got called up to the majors.
So we'll start with a nice little inexpensive one to start with.
This is his 2023 Bowman First Chrome Prospect card in raw condition.
This is a $5 card today, but if you go back to last month, that was more like a three, two to $3 card.
So that one is working its way up.
Here is the same card in PSA 10 condition.
Amazing what grading m- does to a card, because this one is now $104.
It went from $5 to $104, in PSA 10.
A month ago, this card in PSA 10 was around $72, so the PSA 10 is rising alongside the raw card.
Here's his 2023 Bowman Mega Box First Chrome Prospect card, the Mega Box Mojo in raw condition.
This one now between about 10 and $13.
A month ago, there were sales of that around $6, $7, so that one's working its way up as well.
And here's that same card in PSA 10 condition.
Once again, in PSA 10, this one's 110, $116.
A month ago, it was $77, $84, so that one's working its way up as well.
Finally, let's look at his 2026 Bowman Patchwork, the super short print from the new Bowman Chrome 2026.
$115 as of the most recent sale, but you could have snagged that last month for as little as $60.

Let's stick with baseball for the number three spot today, and it is Spencer Jones, the outfielder for the New York Yankees.
Now, last year, you would have known Spencer Jones as a highly touted prospect.
He was the number three prospect last year in the Yankees organization, but this year, he's gotten a lot of time in the major leagues, and what's really impressive is what he's done since he's been recalled on July the 26th.
Since then, he has batted 279 with seven home runs and an 833 OPS.
So he is heating up at the right time of the season, and he could be a key piece for the Yankees down the stretch, as they have some injuries on their team to contend with.
So there's a lot of baseball card collectors that are pretty excited about Spencer Jones and his cards right now, and you can see what they're doing here in the market.
They're all looking pretty good.
This is Spencer Jones' 2023 Bowman Chrome First Bowman Prospect card in PSA 10.
$65 as of the most recent sale.
That one was under $50 one month ago.
Here's his 2023 Bowman First Chrome Prospect Autocard.
In PSA 10 condition, $725 as of the most recent sale.
Last month, that was $463, so that one is up a lot.
Here is his Bowman Mega Box, a first Bowman Mojo Chrome Prospect card in PSA 10.
$67 and $100 were the two most recent sales on that.
You could have scooped it for $48 last month.
And finally, let's look at his Sapphire edition from 2023 Bowman Sapphire.
His Chrome Prospect PSA 10, $150 as of the most recent sale, $70 one month ago.
Okay, our number two card of the week, you knew we had to have some football once again on today's list, and here it is.
It is Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the Chicago Bears.
Yes, Caleb Williams, of course we know he was, the first quarterback taken back in 2024.
This is year three for Williams, and he seems to be getting off to a really, really good start.
In fact, in week one, he completed 21 of 29 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
The real headline was how many points Chicago scored in their win over the Panthers.
I think they had, what, 59 points?
So with Caleb Williams leading that offense, and of course he's paired with, with, Coach Ben Johnson, who's a great offensive mind, the sky may be the limit for them.
In fact, Ben Johnson even said that he wants his offense to, you know, set the all-time record for the most points scored in week one.
If that's any indication, they may be well on their way to doing that.
This is gonna mean good things for Caleb Williams' cards.

Let's look at his Downtown.
This is his 2024 Donruss Downtown, his rookie Downtown.
In raw condition, this one is at $1,375 as of the most recent sale, but even a week ago, you could have scooped that up for, like, $850 or less.
So that one really jumped up.
Here's his 2024 Prizm Silver.
In PSA 10 condition, $1,700 as of the most recent sale.
A month ago, that was down at $1,326.
Here's his 2024 Topps Now, his draft night card.
In PSA 10 condition, $65 as of the most recent sale.
This one's up a little bit.
That was selling for $55 a month ago.
And then finally, how about his 2025 Absolute Kaboom horizontal PSA 10, $3,750 as of the most recent sale.
One month ago, that was down at $3,100.
Pretty great month here for Caleb Williams' cards.

Number one this week, we're back to baseball, and stop me if you've heard this before, because if you've been watching this program recently, in recent weeks, Pete Crow-Armstrong has been in the number one spot, he's been in the number two spot, he's been in the top five throughout, and he's back again in the number one spot today, and the reason why is he has become the clear National League MVP favorite.
The market has exploded behind what many now expect to be a 40-40 season.
He's getting very close.
He's already surpassed that in home runs, and he's almost there with stolen bases.
So does PCA go 40-40 very soon?
His cards, what's gonna happen to them?
Well, they're already going up in anticipation of that.
His cards are absolutely going crazy.
By the way, he's got some really high-end cards going crazy as well.
In fact, on Goldin Auctions, his rookie debut patch autograph is up there right now, and bidding on that one is already well over $200,000, and that thing is continuing to go and go and go.
It's gonna be exciting to see where that card ends.
But let's talk about some of his cards that are, oh, maybe a little more affordable, still high-end, but maybe a little bit more affordable.
Let's look at what these have done in the market over the last 30 days.
Let's start with his 2020 Bowman Draft, his first Bowman Chrome.
This is just the base Chrome card, but in PSA 10 condition, this thing is anywhere between $300 and $500.
This thing has been just huge recently, the prices it has been getting.
A month ago, you could've picked that up for $250.
Here is the refractor version of that same card.
In PSA 10 condition, this one is now between $750 and $800 or even more, whereas a month ago, that was down at $426.
So that one's up a ton as well.
How about his Home Field Advantage?
His 2024 Topps Home Field Advantage super short print in PSA 10 condition most recently sold for $1,700.
That's up about 5% over the course of the last month.
Here's his Helix from 2024 Topps Chrome.
In PSA 10 condition, this one's up a ton, $3,000 as of the most recent sale.
There was a sale of that a month ago for $1,500.
And then finally, how about his 2024 Topps Chrome Rookie Auto?
In PSA 10, most recently sold for $2,550, but a month ago, you could've scooped that for $1,538.
So that is up om- over $1,000 in the last month.
What a month for Pete Crow-Armstrong's cards.
Absolutely incredible.
