SMU-FSU game delayed due to power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The start of the SMU vs. Florida State game is set to start at 9:15 p.m. Monday after a nearly two-hour delay due to a power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Lights at the stadium went out at 7:30 p.m., shortly before the scheduled kickoff. According to ESPN, a transformer blew on the west side of the stadium.

Both teams, which had run out onto the field and were on the sidelines waiting for kickoff, were forced to return to the locker room.

Officials say the game will be played with several missing features, including no coach-to-player communication on headsets, no tablets on the sideline, no PA system, and no scoreboard.
