After a cliffhanger in the spring that ended the first season, R.J. Decker is back for the Season 2 premiere on ABC on Tuesday.

R.J. Decker returns for its Season 2 premiere after the first episode of Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night. This second season premiere will start at 10 p.m. ET with the return of this crime drama inspired by the 1987 novel Double Whammy by Carl Hiaasen. Decker is a former newspaper photographer who is disgraced and is an ex-con after an assault and giving false testimony. He reinvents his life as a private investigator in South Florida’s crime world. To help him fit into this new life, he has a whole cast of characters, including his ex and a woman from his past who could be his ticket to success or drag him back into his criminal past.

Season 1 ended in the Spring on an intense cliffhanger after corrupt politician Victor Ochoa and the father of Decker’s love interest, Emi, were killed. The Season 2 premiere leaves us still investigating what happened in their deaths. Emi Ochoa was the woman who sent Decker to prison on the order of her corrupt state senator father. There is no chance that this doesn’t affect Emi and R.J.’s relationship, but could it somehow bring them closer together?

A new addition to the cast should give us much more insight into the titular character. That’s because Beau Bridges will come in for Season 2 as Reggie Decker, R.J.’s estranged father. The last thing R.J. needs is another wrench as he sorts out all of these complicated relationships. At least we will get more backstory this season in the life of R.J. Decker.
