Disney+ Introduces Playlists

Disney+ has unveiled a new feature on Disney’s streaming service called Playlists. Playlists were created by Disney to address the problem many viewers have of spending more time looking for what to watch than actually enjoying the streaming experience. As more content continues to be added to the Disney+ library, this challenge becomes increasingly daunting.

Playlists is a new feature that promises to bring together themed collections of episodes and movies into a continuous viewing experience. This will allow viewers to simply enjoy watching a series of programs with full playback controls. It also promises to make it easier to discover new content and continue to watch on Disney+.

When subscribers use Playlists, they will be able to select a playlist that has been created by Disney by genre, franchise, character, or even by mood. Some of the Playlists that were provided as examples included mood playlists like Action and Adventure Movies, Romantic Comedies, and Pixar Movies, or favorites including Mickey and Friends, Bluey, or Modern Family. Disney says that these Playlists will help minimize the effort made by viewers in figuring out what to watch next. They will still have the ability to pause, skip, and rewind at any time as they watch their chosen playlist.

There will also be seasonal Playlists that will be revealed throughout the year. This will include themed and holiday-inspired collections for occasions including Halloween and other holidays.

Playlists is a solution that Disney created that can be used in a variety of different ways. This can be used for movie nights or just enjoying relaxing at the end of the day. The goal is to make it easier to spend more time enjoying Disney programming and less time searching for content.

This new feature will not replace the 24/7 ABC News livestream along with the eight ABC Owned Television Stations’ local market streams that feature live, market-specific newscasts, weather updates, special community events, and breaking news for Disney+ subscribers in the United States.

Playlists are rolling out around the world today for all Disney+ subscribers. They can be found on the homepage of Disney+ and elsewhere on the streaming service.
